Writing an electrician job description
What should an electrician job description include?
The job title, location, pay range, schedule and employment type; a short summary of the work; the duties; required qualifications kept separate from preferred ones; the exact license the work requires; and how to apply.
Should I put the pay range in an electrician job post?
Yes. Electricians compare pay before they read the duties, and several states and cities require pay ranges in job posts. Use the payoff report to compare your local market.
Do these templates tell me which license to require?
No. Electrical, low-voltage, alarm and fire alarm licensing is set by states and sometimes cities. Each template leaves a bracketed field for the exact credential, which you should confirm with the issuing board.
