Privacy Policy
Best Electrician Jobs is a product operated by 854 Labs LLC, an Indiana limited liability company (“Best Electrician Jobs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit bestelectricianjobs.com, create an account, post or apply for a job, contact support, or otherwise use our services (the “Services”).
This policy is a notice about our data practices. It is not a contract, and we do not ask you to agree to practices that are not needed to provide the Services.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
Depending on how you use the Services, we collect:
- Account information, such as your email address, password credentials processed by our authentication provider, account type, and verification status.
- Job seeker profile information, such as your name, contact email, phone number, general location, LinkedIn profile, job preferences, specialties, compensation preferences, travel preferences, onboarding status, and any job-alert regions, frequency, or email preferences you choose.
- Application information, such as your name, email address, certifications, answers to employer questions, cover letter, resume, the job you applied to, consent record, submission time, and application status. Some application forms also allow a phone number, general location, or LinkedIn profile.
- Employer and company information, such as your name, work contact information, company details, website, logo, hiring locations, job listings, application settings, and hiring-team notification addresses.
- Billing information, such as the selected plan, subscription status, invoice status, transaction identifiers, and limited payment-method details provided by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
- Communications, including messages and attachments sent through contact or support forms, messages you send by email, job-alert subscriptions, unsubscribe requests, and email delivery or engagement events.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we and our providers collect:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- browser, device, operating system, and language information;
- pages viewed, links or job cards selected, referring page, timestamps, and similar usage events;
- authentication cookies, security tokens, and session information;
- server, security, delivery, audit, and error logs; and
- Google Analytics identifiers and first-party analytics cookies if you allow Analytics and it runs on a public page in your browser.
- if you allow Analytics, a privacy-minimized first-touch record containing the first landing path, external referrer domain and path, allowlisted UTM values, and the type and value of one recognized advertising click ID. URL query strings and fragments are not stored.
Vercel Web Analytics also provides aggregated, cookie-free traffic measurements. See Cookie Settings for more information.
If you allow Analytics, public job pages also count job views and selections of the Apply button. For these job performance counts, our server uses request information to create a one-way keyed value that prevents repeat counting within a 30-minute window. The job performance database does not store the raw IP address, user agent, full URL, referrer, email address, or a browser visitor ID. The temporary keyed value is deleted after about 48 hours. Employers receive aggregate counts only for their own jobs, along with the number of applications submitted through Best Electrician Jobs.
If you allow Analytics, we also set a signed first-party attribution cookie for up to 30 days. If you create an account during that period, we attach one insert-once first-touch record to the account and remove the temporary cookie. Visitors who do not create an account do not receive a database acquisition record. Administrator reports do not expose account email addresses, user identifiers, URL query strings, or raw advertising click IDs.
Information from other sources
We receive billing and transaction information from Stripe, authentication and storage events from Supabase, email-delivery information from Resend, and analytics reports from Google and Vercel. Employers may provide information about their company, team members, jobs, and applicants. Public job and company information may also come from public websites or other authorized sources.
Sensitive information
A resume or application can reveal information that may be sensitive under some laws. Do not include Social Security numbers, driver’s license or government ID numbers, financial account details, passwords, medical records, or other information that is not needed for the application. We do not use resume content to create a searchable candidate database or for automated talent matching without a separate affirmative choice. Applying to a job or uploading a resume does not make that resume searchable by employers.
2. How we collect information
We collect information:
- directly from you when you create an account, complete a profile, apply for a job, post a job, purchase a plan, or contact us;
- automatically through cookies, browser requests, analytics tools, and service logs;
- from an employer or company administrator who manages a company account or hiring process; and
- from service providers when they process authentication, hosting, storage, payments, analytics, or email for us.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create and secure accounts and keep users signed in;
- operate job seeker and employer dashboards;
- publish and manage job listings;
- receive, store, deliver, and track job applications;
- share an application and resume with the employer named on the application;
- send job alerts for the regions and types of work you request;
- send a one-time account or job-alert invitation based on a prior application or request, without automatically enrolling you in recurring alerts;
- send verification, recovery, application, billing, support, and other service-related emails;
- process subscriptions and maintain posting capacity;
- provide customer support and respond to privacy requests;
- measure site traffic and improve the Services;
- prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents;
- enforce our Terms of Service and protect users and the Services; and
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You can unsubscribe from recurring job alerts through the link in the email or by contacting support. Unsubscribing from job alerts does not stop essential account, application, security, billing, or support messages.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar laws apply, our legal bases depend on the activity:
- Contract: to create and administer accounts, process employer subscriptions, deliver applications, and provide requested Services.
- Consent: when a job seeker asks us to share a specific application and resume with the named employer, subscribes to recurring job alerts, or allows non-essential analytics cookies.
- Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the Services, prevent abuse, provide support, measure performance, and operate our business, when those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation: to keep records or disclose information when law requires it.
You can withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the legal basis. Withdrawal does not undo processing that already occurred, including an application already delivered to an employer.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only as described below.
Employers and hiring teams
When you apply through Best Electrician Jobs, we share the information and resume submitted for that application with the company named on the application and its authorized hiring recipients. We also make the application available to authorized members of that company’s employer account.
The employer receives the application to evaluate you for employment. After delivery, the employer may retain or use its copy under its own privacy practices and legal obligations. Contact the employer directly about its copy of your application.
We can notify job seekers in a requested region that a job is available. The employer does not receive the alert recipient list, recipient identities, contact details, profiles, or resumes. We may give the employer aggregate campaign information, such as the number of alerts delivered or applications received. The employer receives your personal information only if you apply to its job or separately direct us to disclose it.
We do not give employers open access to candidate profiles or to a searchable resume database merely because they purchase a job-posting plan. We will not add an application or resume to an employer-searchable database unless the job seeker separately and affirmatively enables that visibility.
Service providers
We use providers that process information for us, including:
- Supabase for authentication, database services, and private resume storage;
- Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, invoices, and payment processing;
- Vercel for website hosting, delivery, logs, performance measurement, and Web Analytics;
- Google Analytics for optional website traffic measurement on public pages after you allow it;
- Resend for authentication, application, contact, and support email; and
- Convex for limited legacy job or application infrastructure while the platform migration is completed.
Providers receive only the information needed to perform their services and operate under their own terms and privacy commitments.
Other disclosures
We also disclose information:
- when you ask us to or direct us to;
- to professional advisers, auditors, insurers, or contractors who need it to provide services to us;
- to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our terms;
- to comply with law, a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process;
- to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, 854 Labs LLC, or the Services; or
- as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate protections.
6. International processing
854 Labs LLC operates from the United States. We and our providers process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws from your home country.
When law requires a transfer mechanism, we rely on measures offered by our providers, such as standard contractual clauses or other lawful safeguards. The Services are intended only for users and job opportunities in the United States. We do not offer a customer-selected data-residency region.
7. Data retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy:
- Account, profile, and resume records are generally kept until you submit a verified deletion request, delete them through an available account control, or we determine that they are no longer needed.
- Applications and the resume submitted with them are kept until a verified deletion request is completed or they are no longer needed to maintain the application record, support the employer’s hiring process, prevent duplicate submissions, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
- Job-alert preferences and consent records are kept until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or the alert service ends. We can keep a limited suppression record after an unsubscribe or deletion request so we do not restart unwanted email.
- Company and subscription records are generally kept while the account or business relationship is active and afterward as needed for billing, disputes, compliance, and legitimate business records.
- Support and contact messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and maintain an appropriate business record.
- Billing, tax, audit, fraud-prevention, and security records are kept for the periods required by law or reasonably needed to protect the Services.
- Temporary keyed values used to deduplicate job performance counts are kept for no more than about 48 hours. Aggregate job view and Apply-button counts can be kept with the job listing as business performance records.
- Backups and provider logs may remain for a limited time after information is removed from active systems.
You can request deletion at any time. We will delete or de-identify information unless we need to retain it for an application already delivered, security, fraud prevention, an email suppression list, billing, tax, legal, or similar legitimate reasons. An employer’s separate copy must be addressed with that employer.
8. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know whether we process your personal information;
- request access to or a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- request deletion;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent for future processing;
- unsubscribe from job alerts and other marketing email;
- opt out of a sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; and
- appeal a decision we make about a privacy request.
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email support@bestelectricianjobs.com or use our contact form. State that the message is a privacy request and describe what you need.
We may ask for information needed to verify your identity, account, or authority to act for another person. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. If we deny a request, we will explain the reason when required and tell you how to appeal.
If an employer already received your application, contact that employer about its copy. You may also complain to the privacy or data-protection authority where you live.
9. United States state privacy disclosures
In the previous 12 months, we collected the categories described in Section 1: identifiers, customer records, commercial and subscription information, internet or network activity, approximate geolocation, professional or employment-related information, user content, and inferences needed to administer account type or job preferences.
We collect and disclose those categories for the business purposes described in Sections 3 and 5. We do not sell those categories or share them for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Some state privacy laws apply only after a business meets statutory thresholds. We honor legally required rights when a law applies and also accept reasonable access, correction, and deletion requests from other users.
10. Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies and similar storage for authentication, security, preferences, and form protection. These are necessary for account and dashboard features.
Google Analytics does not load unless you select Allow analytics. If
allowed, it can use a first-party identifier such as the _ga cookie and
collect device, browser, approximate location, and site-interaction data on
public pages. We keep Google advertising storage, ad personalization, and
Google Signals disabled. We also disable Google Analytics on sign-in, account,
dashboard, and application pages. Vercel Web Analytics measures aggregated
traffic without third-party cookies.
First-touch account attribution also runs only after you select Allow analytics. Its signed first-party cookie expires after 30 days, is removed when its data is attached to a new account, and is deleted if you turn Analytics off before signup.
Your Analytics choice is stored in an essential preference cookie for 180 days. You can change it at any time on Cookie Settings. If you turn Analytics off, we remove Google Analytics cookies available to this site and reload without the Google tag. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in and other account features from working.
11. Security
We use safeguards designed to protect personal information, including HTTPS, private resume storage, access controls, short-lived resume download links, authenticated sessions, company-membership checks, row-level database security, secret separation, and audit or delivery records.
No service can promise perfect security. Protect your password and account, and do not place unnecessary sensitive information in a resume, job listing, support attachment, or application.
12. Children’s privacy
The Services are for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the Services are not directed to children. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
13. Third-party websites
Job listings, company profiles, and articles may link to employer websites or other services that we do not control. Their privacy policies and security practices apply when you use them. A link does not mean we endorse or control that third party.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or law changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date shown on the page. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice by email, in the Services, or by another reasonable method.
