Meta is building a data center campus in Lebanon, Indiana with an announced investment of more than $10 billion. The 1 GW campus will cover roughly 4 million square feet and is expected to support about 4,000 construction jobs at peak.
For electricians and low-voltage workers, the opportunity is not limited to the roughly 300 jobs that will operate the finished facility. The large hiring wave is the construction work: electrical installation, power distribution, structured cabling, fiber, rack work, controls, testing, commissioning, supervision, quality, and material support.

The difference between 4,000 construction workers and 300 operating workers matters. If you are an electrician, apprentice, cable technician, or foreman, look at the companies building the campus—not only Meta’s corporate career page.
Which electrical and low-voltage jobs are available?
Faith Technologies is a named project partner and has a Lebanon Data Center hiring page listing:

Who is building the Meta Lebanon data center?
Mortenson
Mortenson is one of the main builders. The project’s official employment page currently sends applicants to Mortenson’s open positions.
Mortenson hires construction management, electrical leadership, project controls, safety, quality, commissioning, and other data center roles. Craft workers may also be hired by trade partners working under the main project team.
Turner Construction
Turner Construction is a named partner on the project. Search Turner’s official career site and project trade-partner notices rather than trusting a recruiter who cannot identify the employer.
Faith Technologies
Faith Technologies is the most direct electrical and low-voltage project source currently published. FTI says its Lebanon work includes millions of labor hours, near-site manufacturing and integration, and two warehouse hubs supporting the campus.
Its published project page links directly to electrician, low-voltage apprentice, foreman, superintendent, and project-management openings.
Meta
Meta will hire for operating and technical roles as the campus moves toward service. Meta’s career page is the place to look for owner-side electrical subject-matter experts, critical-facility engineers, facility operations, controls, and site leadership.
Most construction electricians and cable installers will not be direct Meta employees. They will work for a contractor or trade partner.
What does the Meta Lebanon electrical work include?
The full contractor scope is not public, but current project hiring and data center construction work point to several electrical packages:
- Underground electrical work, duct banks, vaults, and site distribution
- Substation and utility interconnection work
- Medium- and low-voltage switchgear
- Transformers, panels, busway, feeders, and branch circuits
- Generators and automatic transfer equipment
- UPS and battery backup systems
- Grounding and bonding
- Electrical controls and power monitoring
- Fire alarm and life-safety interfaces
- Equipment startup, testing, QA/QC, and commissioning
- Preventive maintenance and operating procedures after turnover
Meta’s current Electrical Subject Matter Expert posting for Lebanon specifically asks for experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution, protection and controls, UPS and battery systems, electrical testing, codes, and procedure-based work.
What does the low-voltage work include?
The campus will also require large physical-network packages:
- Pathways, ladder rack, basket tray, and supports
- Copper and fiber cable pulls
- Cable dressing and service loops
- Copper termination and certification
- Fiber cleaning, termination or splicing, and loss testing
- Labeling and test-result records
- Rack assembly and equipment rails
- Rack-and-stack work
- Patch cords and physical network connections
- Security, access-control, and monitoring cabling
This is not general computer support. It is the skilled installation work that creates the physical layer of the data center.
How much can the jobs pay?
Faith Technologies’ public Lebanon page currently lists electrician and electrical/low-voltage apprentice openings but does not publish their hourly rates. We will not turn a superintendent salary or a Meta engineering salary into an “electrician pay” claim.
The wider data center construction market shows why the Lebanon rates are worth watching. Current 2026 offers on other major projects advertise licensed field electricians at approximately $64 to $65 per hour, 50 to 70 hours a week, and $160 to $178 per day in per diem for workers who qualify. At the strongest combination of rate, overtime, and per diem, a journeyman can approach or pass $280,000 during a long project year.

Free Meta training in Indiana
America’s Workforce Academy
Meta launched America’s Workforce Academy with Indiana as one of its four 2026 pilot locations.
Meta says:
- The program costs participants nothing
- Participants are supported while they learn
- No prior experience is necessary for the entry pathway
- Graduates receive an NCCER credential
- Graduates also receive an America’s Workforce Certificate
- Every graduate is guaranteed a job with a Meta partner
Indiana reporting says the local program is working with the Boone County Economic Development Corporation and Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana/Kentucky. Check the official application for the current intake, location, dates, travel, stipend, and job-placement terms.
LevelUp Fiber Technician Pathway
Meta and CBRE also created the LevelUp Fiber Technician Pathway.
LevelUp is a free four-week program built specifically for fiber installation. Meta says no prior experience is required and graduates can receive opportunities at U.S. construction sites through its contractor network.
LevelUp and America’s Workforce Academy are separate programs. Apply through the official Meta or CBRE route and confirm which project and employer are attached to the offer.
Faith Technologies apprenticeships
Faith Technologies runs electrical and specialty-systems apprenticeships and currently lists an electrical/low-voltage apprentice path for the Lebanon project.
Ask whether the program is a registered apprenticeship, how work hours are recorded, how wage steps work, and whether travel to future projects is expected.

- Check the official training application. Use America’s Workforce Academy if you need an entry pathway.
- Check Meta Careers for operating roles. Search Lebanon and data center facilities as the site gets closer to operation.

Do not pay a recruiter for access to a public opening. Verify that the application domain belongs to Meta, Mortenson, Turner, Faith Technologies, CBRE, or another named contractor.
How to make your application stronger
Electricians
List your license or apprenticeship level, voltage experience, systems, and project type. Name switchgear, transformers, generators, ATS, UPS, battery systems, busway, feeders, controls, testing, and commissioning only when you have worked on them.
Low-voltage and fiber technicians
List pathway installation, cable type, terminations, fiber cleaning, test tools, cable dressing, labels, rack work, and the number of drops or links completed. Include test-result and turnover experience.
Foremen and supervisors
Show crew size, labor hours, schedule, quality results, safety responsibility, material planning, and coordination with other trades.
Workers changing trades
Lead with construction safety, tool use, measurements, drawings, shift reliability, physical work, and documented training. A data center employer still needs proof that you can work safely and follow a controlled process.
Questions to ask before accepting
- Who is the legal employer?
- Is the job for Lebanon or a nationwide travel pool?
- What is the straight-time hourly rate or base salary?
- When does overtime start?
- How many hours are expected, and are they guaranteed?
- Is per diem paid every day or only on worked days?
- Is travel time paid?
- Is the position construction, commissioning, or permanent operations?
- What happens when this phase or building finishes?
- Does training require repayment if you leave?
- Do apprentice hours count toward a recognized program?
The project number is huge. Your offer still needs to make sense on its own.
