What You’ll Do as an Apprentice Electrician
As an Apprentice Electrician at Prime Partners, you’ll be an integral part of our team working on exciting, multi-year projects in Pomona, CA, with additional projects in nearby cities such as Claremont, La Verne, and Chino. Your role will involve hands-on learning and practical applications that are critical to the success of our construction projects. You’ll work closely with experienced journeyman electricians, gaining valuable skills and knowledge that will help you advance in your career. Your Daily Tasks as an Apprentice Electrician
In your role, you’ll assist journeyman electricians with the installation of wiring, conduit, and electrical fixtures essential for commercial construction projects. Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Pulling and Terminating Wire Runs: You’ll safely handle electrical wires, ensuring they are correctly terminated and connected.
- Installing Electrical Boxes and Fixtures: You’ll be responsible for setting up electrical boxes and various fixtures as per project requirements.
- Setting Up Temporary Power Systems: You’ll assist in establishing temporary power solutions crucial for ongoing construction work.
- Blueprint Interpretation and Installation: You’ll follow blueprints and schematics to install electrical infrastructure accurately and efficiently.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: You’ll perform basic troubleshooting and repairs under the guidance of a journeyman, honing your problem-solving skills.
- Safety and Organization: Maintaining a tidy workspace and adhering to strict safety practices on active construction sites will be a key part of your role.
- Routine Testing and Inspections: Conduct routine testing of installed systems and report any discrepancies to ensure smooth project progression.
What You Need to Be an Apprentice Electrician
To be successful as an Apprentice Electrician at Prime Partners, you should have:
- Valid Electrical Trainee Card: Issued by the CA Department of Industrial Relations, confirming your eligibility to work as an apprentice.
- Basic Electrical Knowledge: A solid understanding of electrical principles and a keen interest in learning more advanced techniques.
- Physical Ability: Capability to work in demanding construction environments, which includes climbing ladders and lifting heavy equipment.
