OHSU's next construction phase is emergency care
Vista Pavilion opened in April. Emergency department work continues toward a January 2028 target, with other hospital renovations on separate dates.

OHSU's Vista Pavilion is already open. The Portland hospital's next construction story includes an emergency department expansion scheduled for completion in January 2028.
For an electrical or low voltage contractor, those are different assignments. Reporting the entire hospital program as a future tower build would put the work on the wrong schedule.
The phases on the owner's timeline
OHSU's expansion page says Vista Pavilion opened April 7, 2026. The new inpatient facility added 128 beds for high-acuity adult cancer care.
Emergency department expansion began in July 2025. That project plans 17 additional beds and separate adult and pediatric entrances. The owner lists January 2028 as its completion target.
Kohler Pavilion opened two renovated heart-care units on August 4, 2026. New brain-care space is scheduled to open December 1. The planned children's hospital addition is another matter: OHSU says it awaits funding.
An opened unit, an active expansion and an unfunded future addition should not be combined into one current construction hiring claim.
What the remaining work means
Emergency department work puts construction beside a service patients still need. A contractor needs the access, connection and turnover plan for its own area. The owner timeline does not identify every temporary arrangement or system interface.
Electrical firms should establish how new distribution and backup arrangements connect with the existing hospital. Communications, security and fire alarm firms need to know which systems remain live and who coordinates acceptance as areas change use.
The differences between phases also affect staffing. A crew finishing a renovation may have a short closeout assignment. A crew on the emergency expansion may follow a longer installation sequence. The final completion date does not establish either contract's duration.
Hiring evidence
The owner page does not provide a current electrician count, project wage scale or remaining bid list. It confirms the hospital's published phase status and targets.
Follow the emergency department's actual construction buyer for an available package. Treat the completed pavilion as completed work and the unfunded addition as a future plan. The Oregon pay report can help assess a confirmed offer without assuming that every hospital phase offers the same terms.
