Core Security Technician Responsibilities

Key Duties

• Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot advanced security systems, including IP cameras, access control systems, motion detectors, and alarm systems at commercial job sites.
• Cable Management: Pull, terminate, and label low-voltage cables, ensuring compliance with site specifications and industry standards.
• System Testing: Perform comprehensive on-site testing to verify system functionality, connectivity, and power reliability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and general contractors to align installations with project timelines.
• Documentation and Training: Maintain accurate installation records and provide client training on basic system operation and troubleshooting.

Advanced Technical Duties

• System Integration: Integrate security systems with existing IT infrastructure to enhance overall security management.
• Network Configuration: Optimize network settings for security systems to ensure seamless connectivity and data integrity.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Security Technician

• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Certifications

• Essential certifications such as NICET or equivalent
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices

Technical Knowledge
