What You’ll Do on the Job

If you’re coming on with Prime Partners in West Hollywood, CA, you’re stepping into a real commercial electrical role where the work changes with the jobsite, but the expectations stay the same: show up ready, work safely, and keep the project moving. As a Commercial Electrician, you’ll be out in the field handling the kind of work that keeps commercial builds on schedule. That means installing electrical systems in office spaces, tenant improvements, retail spaces, and other active construction projects. You’ll work alongside foremen, apprentices, and other trades, so being able to stay organized and communicate clearly matters just as much as your tool skills.

Your Daily Tasks

Most days, you’ll be bending and installing conduit, including EMT and rigid, then laying out raceways and equipment based on the plans. You’ll set panels, gear, transformers, and lighting systems, making sure everything is mounted clean and installed to spec. Reading blueprints and electrical drawings is part of the daily routine, and you’ll need to catch problems early before they slow the crew down. Troubleshooting field issues, adjusting installs to match site conditions, and keeping production pace are all part of the work.

You’ll also be pulling wire, terminating devices, and helping with rough-in and trim-out phases as the project moves forward. On a commercial site, there’s always something to finish, adjust, or verify, so a good electrician stays busy and keeps the work moving without cutting corners.

What You Need to Bring

We’re looking for someone with 4 to 7 years of commercial electrical experience who knows the trade and can work without needing constant direction. You should have solid conduit bending skills, know how to read prints and electrical drawings, and understand the NEC well enough to apply it in the field. We need someone who can work clean, think ahead, and handle the day-to-day pressure that comes with commercial construction.

Must-have skills include:
