The Residential Electrician Position

As a Residential Electrician at Mr Sparky, you’ll be part of a team that is committed to providing top-notch electrical services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, troubleshooting circuits, and responding to service calls. Core Residential Electrician Responsibilities

Our electricians handle crucial tasks such as installing electrical wiring and devices, troubleshooting residential circuits, replacing and upgrading electrical panels, and installing lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. We expect our team to ensure all installations meet Texas state code, maintain a clean and organized work site, and educate homeowners on safe electrical usage. Advanced tasks include installing and troubleshooting smart home systems, coordinating with general contractors, and ensuring compliance with regional project specifics. Safety is paramount, and all electricians must adhere to our stringent safety protocols.

Required Experience & Skills

Our ideal candidate holds a valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License and has a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the field. They should have a solid understanding of residential wiring systems and be adept at troubleshooting. Ability to work in tight spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, and experience with smart home electrical systems is a plus. We require a professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with homeowners. Personal hand tools and reliable transportation are also necessary.

Tools & Equipment

Our electricians use a variety of tools daily, including wire strippers, voltage testers, and circuit finders. We expect you to have your own hand tools, but we provide larger equipment such as power drills and saws. All equipment must be maintained in good working condition.

Physical Requirements

The role of a Residential Electrician can be physically demanding. It requires lifting heavy objects, working in various conditions, and wearing safety gear like hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves. Our team members must be in excellent physical condition to safely perform their duties.
