Commercial Journeyman Electrician Position Overview

Jonsson Electrical is urgently seeking a skilled Commercial Journeyman Electrician for our operations in Enoch, UT. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of commercial installation, be able to work independently, and have the ability to lead small teams when required.

Must Haves for Commercial Journeyman Electrician

• 4-8 years of experience in a similar role.
• High school diploma or equivalent, accompanied by a 4-year apprenticeship with a certificate.
• Current Utah Journeyman 5504 Electrical License.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the NEC/theory and commercial installation.
• Proficiency in plan reading, layout, load calculations, and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the general contractor and other trades.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and a full hand tool set.

Key Commercial Journeyman Electrician Duties

• Install power, lighting, and controls in ground-up commercial buildings.
• Perform raceway layout and bending (EMT, RMC, PVC), cable tray, and MC installation.
• Set and wire panels, transformers, disconnects, and equipment.
• Read and execute from blueprints/specifications.
• Coordinate underground work for service equipment, vaults, and utility wiring.
• Complete lighting fixture/controls layouts.
• Lead small crews/apprentices and uphold safety/lockout procedures.
• Document redlines and as-builts.
