What You’ll Do as an Apprentice Electrician

As an Apprentice Electrician at Jonsson Electrical, you’ll become a crucial part of our team. Based in Washington, UT, you’ll be hands-on in major residential, commercial, and light industrial projects. We don’t sugarcoat things here at Jonsson Electrical, as an apprentice, you’ll be involved in the nitty-gritty of electrical work, experiencing first-hand the demands and rewards of the job.

Your Daily Tasks as an Apprentice Electrician

Under the guidance of our experienced Journeymen, you’ll contribute to new construction projects. You’ll assist with tasks such as raceway installation, wire pulls, and device/fixture rough and trim. You’ll also help set up lighting controls and participate in underground excavations for utility/service work.

Your responsibilities won’t stop there. You’ll be expected to maintain safe and compliant work areas, communicating any progress or issues clearly and promptly. You will need to arrive prepared each day, armed with your tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).

What You Need to Be an Apprentice Electrician

To become part of the Jonsson Electrical team, you’ll need a high school diploma or equivalent, and you must be over 16 with a valid driver’s license. You’ll also need to obtain and maintain a Utah Apprentice Electrician license, which we can assist you with.

Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are non-negotiables. As for equipment, you’ll need basic electrical hand tools and a willingness to learn. Physical fitness is also important as you may need to lift up to 50 lbs.

Most importantly, you need a positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team. Experience in the field as an Apprentice Electrician is a plus, but not mandatory. We value hands-on abilities, practical skills, and a problem-solving mindset.
