Core Apprentice Electrician Skills

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license, and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Utah Apprentice Electrician license (Jonsson Electrical can assist with this process). The candidate must have reliable transportation, consistent attendance, basic electrical hand tools, and a willingness to learn. The candidate must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, and have a positive attitude and team orientation.

Main Apprentice Electrician Duties

The Apprentice Electrician will contribute to residential, commercial, and light industrial new-construction tasks under Journeyman supervision. Duties include assisting with raceway installation, wire pulls, device/fixture rough and trim, and lighting controls setup. The Apprentice Electrician will also participate in underground excavations for utility/service work, keep work areas safe and compliant, communicate progress and issues clearly, and arrive prepared with tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
