The Apprentice Electrician Position

As an Apprentice Electrician at Jonsson Electrical, your primary role will be to assist in the execution of different electrical tasks under the supervision of a Journeyman. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include raceway installation, wire pulls, device/fixture rough and trim, and lighting controls setup. You may also be called upon to assist in underground excavations for utility/service work. Core Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities

As an Apprentice Electrician, your core duties will include electrical wiring of buildings, stationary machines and related equipment. You will assist in installing and repairing wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services. Additionally, you’ll contribute to maintaining compliance with the National Electrical Code during all installations. Your role will also involve ensuring the safety of the workplace and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Required Experience & Skills

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an Apprentice Electrician, a high school diploma or its equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. You should also be able to obtain and maintain a Utah Apprentice Electrician license. Basic electrical hand tools are essential, as is a willingness to learn. You must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs. A positive attitude and team orientation are key to succeeding in this role.

Tools & Equipment

Our Apprentice Electricians frequently use tools such as wire strippers, conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and voltage testers. You’ll be expected to provide some of your own basic tools, but specialized equipment will be provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

The Apprentice Electrician role involves physical labor, including lifting to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and operating power tools. You may be required to work in various conditions, both indoor and outdoors, and in all weather conditions. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hard hats, and safety shoes are necessary and will be provided by the company.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $17.24-$19.49 per hour, depending on experience.
