Core Apprentice Electrician Skills

A high school diploma/equivalent is required, along with a valid driver’s license for individuals aged 16+. Applicants should be able to obtain and maintain a Utah Apprentice Electrician license (assistance available from Jonsson Electrical). Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are a must. The position requires basic electrical hand tools and a willingness to learn. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs is necessary, as well as a positive attitude and team orientation.

Main Apprentice Electrician Duties

The Apprentice Electrician will contribute to residential, commercial, and light industrial new-construction tasks under the supervision of a Journeyman. Duties include assisting with raceway installation, wire pulls, device/fixture rough and trim, and lighting controls setup. The role also involves participation in underground excavations for utility/service work, keeping work areas safe and compliant, clear communication of progress and issues, and arriving prepared with tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
