Journeyman Electrician Prevailing Wage at First Contracting

Pay: $61.03 per hour (Determined by Michigan Prevailing Wage classification)

Overview

First Contracting is hiring experienced Journeyman Electricians to support our growing pipeline of multi-family renovations, senior housing upgrades, and mixed-use construction projects across Michigan. We are a licensed and insured contractor with a long history of work under federal and state programs.

Responsibilities

• Install EMT, MC, and Romex per code
• Pull wire, terminate panels, and install devices and lighting
• Accurately bend and install conduit (½” and ¾”)
• Interpret blueprints and one-line diagrams
• Install panels, breakers, disconnects, and transformers
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and circuits
• Upgrade existing wiring to meet current codes
• Lead apprentices and maintain a clean, safe job site
• Adhere to NEC and all local codes
• Coordinate with project managers and meet deadlines

Requirements

• Valid Michigan Journeyman Electrician License
• 4+ years of electrical field experience
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Ability to work independently and with a crew
• Must have basic hand tools and power tools
• Reliable transportation for job site travel
• Ability to read prints and scopes with minimal oversight
• Comfortable working in occupied senior housing

Physical Demands

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Work in attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas
• Tolerate outdoor weather conditions year-round
