The Residential Electrician Position

As a residential electrician at EV Careers, you will be part of a highly skilled team responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in homes and apartment buildings. Our electricians work in a variety of environments, from new construction sites to older buildings undergoing renovations. Under the supervision of experienced team leaders, you will be expected to handle day-to-day tasks independently while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. Core Residential Electrician Responsibilities

Our electricians are responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems, wiring new constructions and remodels, installing outlets, lighting, and switches, and servicing breaker panels and subpanels. Additional duties include troubleshooting household electrical issues, inspecting systems for code compliance, communicating with homeowners, and following safety protocols. Other responsibilities involve maintaining tools and supplies, testing continuity of circuits, and ensuring all work meets NEC code for residential work.

Required Experience & Skills

We require a valid electrical license or proof of apprenticeship completion, understanding of NEC code for residential work, and the ability to read blueprints and layouts. A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience as a residential electrician, excellent customer service and communication skills, and a clean driving record are also essential.

Tools & Equipment

Our residential electricians use a variety of tools daily, including wire strippers, voltage testers, and conduit benders. Personal tools, such as screwdrivers and pliers, are required. EV Careers provides large equipment such as ladders, power drills, and circuit testers.

Physical Requirements

As a residential electrician, you should be able to lift heavy objects, sometimes over 50 lbs. The role often involves working in tight spaces and at heights. Safety gear, including hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves, is necessary at all times.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $29.85-$33.04 per hour, depending on experience.
