What You’ll Do as an Industrial Electrician

As an Industrial Electrician at EV Careers in Johnson City, TN, you’ll be a critical part of our construction team. You’ll work on a variety of projects, from large-scale industrial builds to maintenance and repair jobs. The role is hands-on and challenging, requiring a sound understanding of electrical systems and a knack for problem-solving.

Your Daily Tasks as an Industrial Electrician

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but you can expect to install and maintain electrical systems in various industrial environments. This includes servicing motors, conveyors, control panels, and high-voltage equipment. You’ll also troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in machinery, ensuring operations run smoothly and safely.

Following lockout/tagout procedures will be a regular part of your routine, as will interpreting technical diagrams and schematics. You’ll conduct preventative maintenance and document any repairs or updates made.

In addition, you’ll collaborate closely with our maintenance and engineering teams, contributing to the continual improvement of our operations. Some days might see you working on new constructions, while others might involve intricate repair work on existing systems.

What You Need to Be an Industrial Electrician

To excel in this role, you’ll need an Electrical Journeyman license or equivalent, coupled with 4-6 years of experience in the field. A strong understanding of motor controls, PLCs, and 3-phase power is essential.

We expect our Industrial Electricians to be proficient in diagnostics and repair, and to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams with ease. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations is a must, as is a team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills.
