The DC Fast Charging Electrician Position

As a DC Fast Charging Electrician on our team, your day-to-day responsibilities will be varied and challenging. You will handle projects in diverse environments, from fleet depots to public charging stations. Core DC Fast Charging Electrician Responsibilities

As a DC Fast Charging Electrician, you will install and maintain DC fast charging equipment, perform site surveys, handle trenching, wiring, and panel upgrades, and commission and test chargers. You will also coordinate with utility and inspection authorities and document and log charging station performance. Advanced technical duties specific to this position include troubleshooting and fixing complex electrical issues, performing diagnostic tests on charging equipment, and ensuring compliance with regional electrical codes. An essential part of this role involves adhering to strict safety protocols to ensure the wellbeing of all team members and the public.

Required Experience & Skills

Ideally, you will be a journeyman or master electrician with a minimum of 4-6 years of experience, specifically with DC fast charging. Proficiency in high-voltage safety and commissioning protocols is essential, as is familiarity with software platforms used in charger configuration and diagnostics. You should be capable of managing field projects and service tickets. Essential certifications include a state-issued electrician’s license and OSHA safety training. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and charging infrastructure is a must.

Tools & Equipment

Our electricians use a variety of tools, including voltage testers, wire strippers, cable cutters, and multimeters. A basic set of personal tools is required, although specialized equipment is provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

As a DC Fast Charging Electrician, you should be able to lift up to 50lbs. You’ll be working in a variety of conditions, from warehouses to outdoor charging stations, and you’ll need to wear safety gear, including hard hats, safety glasses, and work boots.
