Commercial Apprentice Position Overview
EV Careers in Opelousas, LA is urgently seeking a commercially-focused Apprentice to support our growing team. As our Commercial Apprentice, you’ll have the opportunity to work hands-on in the field, gaining experience and knowledge in commercial-grade EV electrical installations. We’re looking for a hardworking, diligent individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for the construction industry.
Must Haves for Commercial Apprentice
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience as a Commercial Apprentice
- Completion of at least 1 year in an apprenticeship program
- Understanding of commercial wiring systems
- Ability to read simple one-line diagrams
- OSHA 10-hour certification is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions exactly
- Excellent math and measuring skills
Key Commercial Apprentice Duties
In this role, you will:
- Assist in commercial-grade EV electrical installations in retail, hospitality, and industrial facilities
- Interpret basic blueprints and layout plans
- Pull wire through raceways
- Install low-voltage control wiring for smart EV systems
- Support panel upgrades and load center installations
- Maintain records of material use and time logs
- Learn commercial code requirements
