Maintenance Electrician Position Overview

EV Careers in Opelousas, LA urgently requires a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Electrician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all our electrical systems. You’ll perform routine electrical maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and handle urgent repairs.

Must Haves for Maintenance Electrician

• Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Maintenance Electrician
• A valid electrical license or a strong background in facilities maintenance
• Solid troubleshooting and repair skills
• Familiarity with building codes and maintenance practices
• Ability to work on-call or during off-hours
• Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities
• Knowledge of electrical testing equipment and ability to work independently
• The top three requirements are electrical license, troubleshooting experience, and ability to work off-hours

Key Maintenance Electrician Duties

As a Maintenance Electrician, you’ll be expected to perform routine electrical maintenance on building systems. You’ll inspect, test, and troubleshoot lighting, power outlets, and control panels. Responding to urgent repair requests will be a regular part of your job. You’ll also perform electrical upgrades and preventative maintenance, maintain logs of repairs and inspections, replace ballasts, fuses, wiring, and fixtures. Coordinating with facilities teams and vendors and adhering to all safety standards is paramount.
