The Apprentice Electrician Position
As an Apprentice Electrician, your day-to-day responsibilities primarily include assisting in the installation and testing of EV charging stations, pulling wire, bending conduit under supervision, and maintaining tool and worksite cleanliness. You’ll be working in various environments, from outdoor construction sites to commercial buildings, under the guidance of our experienced Electricians. Core Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities
Your key duties will involve shadowing Journeyman Electricians during EVSE installations and repairs, learning to read blueprints and circuit diagrams, and adhering to NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations. You’ll also attend weekly safety meetings and hands-on training sessions. Advanced responsibilities may include troubleshooting electrical systems, coordinating with project managers, and assisting with regional projects. Safety protocols are a key part of our operations, and you’ll be expected to follow them strictly.
Required Experience & Skills
We require enrollment in a certified electrician apprenticeship program, a basic understanding of electrical theory and safety, and the willingness to work in various environments. A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an Apprentice Electrician is essential. You should possess the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Essential certifications include OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid.
Tools & Equipment
Daily tools used by our Apprentice Electricians include wire strippers, voltage testers, and conduit benders. You’ll be expected to have your own basic hand tools, while company-provided equipment includes power tools and heavy machinery as required.
Physical Requirements
Aside from the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders, you should be comfortable working in outdoor and industrial environments. Safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves will be required at all times on the job.
Training & Development
Our Apprentices benefit from a robust mentorship program, shadowing experienced Electricians on the job. We offer several certifications, and a clear path to becoming a Journeyman Electrician and beyond.
Compensation Package
Our Apprentice Electricians are compensated at a competitive rate of $21.86-$28.49 per hour, depending on experience. We offer comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off and holidays, and opportunities for career advancement. Overtime is paid at time and a half. We provide a tool allowance and several additional perks, including ongoing training and certification opportunities.
