Essential Apprentice Electrician Skills
Candidates must have an enrollment in a certified electrician apprenticeship program, basic understanding of electrical theory and safety procedures, and a willingness to work in outdoor and industrial environments. They must exhibit the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders, possess strong communication and team collaboration skills, and have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Key Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities
Responsibilities include assisting in the installation and testing of EV charging stations, pulling wire and bending conduit under supervision, maintaining clean and safe work sites, learning to read blueprints and circuit diagrams, adhering to NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations, attending weekly safety meetings and hands-on training sessions, and shadowing journeyman electricians during EVSE installations and repairs.
