Core Apprentice Electrician Skills
Candidates should be enrolled in a certified electrician apprenticeship program, have a basic understanding of electrical theory and safety, and exhibit a willingness to work in outdoor and industrial environments. An ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders, strong communication and team collaboration skills, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation are also required.
Main Apprentice Electrician Duties
The role involves assisting in the installation and testing of EV charging stations, pulling wire and bending conduit under supervision, and maintaining tools and worksite cleanliness. The Apprentice Electrician will also learn to read blueprints and circuit diagrams, follow NEC guidelines for low-voltage and 240V installations, attend weekly safety meetings and hands-on training, and shadow journeyman electricians during EVSE installations and repairs.
