What You’ll Do as a Residential Electrician

At EV Careers, we’re looking for a skilled Residential Electrician for our ongoing and upcoming projects in Summerville, SC. As a Residential Electrician, you’ll be at the forefront of our home construction and remodeling projects. You’ll be in charge of installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in residential properties, ensuring that every home we work on is safe, functional, and up to code.

Your Daily Tasks as a Residential Electrician

In your day-to-day work, you’ll be expected to install and repair electrical systems in homes and apartment buildings. This includes wiring new constructions and remodels, installing outlets, lighting fixtures, and switches, and servicing breaker panels and subpanels. You’ll troubleshoot any electrical issues that arise and inspect systems for code compliance.

Effective communication will be a key part of your role as well. Explaining the work you’re doing to homeowners, making recommendations for future electrical maintenance, and ensuring their satisfaction will be a regular part of your workday.

Safety will always be your top priority. Following safety protocols and maintaining your tools and supplies will ensure that every job is done correctly and safely.

What You Need to Be a Residential Electrician

To join our team as a Residential Electrician, you’ll need a valid electrical license or proof of apprenticeship completion. You’ll need a thorough understanding of the NEC code for residential work and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and layouts.

Experience in installing outlets, lighting, and switches is a must, as is experience with breaker panels. You’ll need to have excellent customer service and communication skills and a clean driving record.

A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the field as a Residential Electrician is required.
