The High Voltage Battery Electrician Position
As a High Voltage Battery Electrician on our team, you can expect a diverse set of day-to-day responsibilities. You will primarily be involved in installing and maintaining high-voltage battery systems, diagnosing performance issues, and conducting thermal/voltage testing. Working within a structured team under experienced supervision, you’ll have the chance to grow within our company while working on a wide range of projects in various environments.
Core High Voltage Battery Electrician Responsibilities
Our High Voltage Battery Electricians ensure the smooth operation of our EV batteries. Core duties include integrating batteries with inverters and charge controllers, maintaining logs and test data, and assisting with field retrofits and emergency repairs. Advanced tasks may involve designing custom battery configurations, troubleshooting complex electrical issues, and leading safety training sessions. Safety is paramount, and you’ll be expected to adhere to all safety protocols and standards.
Required Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate will have an electrical license with battery safety certification and at least 4-6 years of experience as a High Voltage Battery Electrician. Essential knowledge includes lithium-ion and high-capacity storage systems, charge-discharge cycles, BMS systems, and thermal management. You must also have extensive knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols for high-voltage DC.
Tools & Equipment
Our High Voltage Battery Electricians use a variety of tools daily, including multimeters, thermal cameras, and high-voltage testing equipment. While some personal tools are required, our company provides all necessary high-voltage equipment and safety gear.
Physical Requirements
This role can be physically demanding, requiring lifting of up to 50 pounds, working in various weather conditions or confined spaces, and standing for extended periods. Safety gear such as hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses will be required at all times.
