What You’ll Do as a Residential Electrician

As a Residential Electrician at EV Careers, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential properties throughout Simpsonville, SC. Our current projects range from new home constructions to remodels of existing properties. As a Residential Electrician, you will be on the front lines, ensuring that our customers’ electrical systems are safe, code-compliant, and functioning optimally.

Your Daily Tasks as a Residential Electrician

In your role as a Residential Electrician, you will install and repair electrical systems in homes and apartment buildings. You will be tasked with wiring new constructions and remodeling projects, installing outlets, lighting, and switches. You will also service breaker panels and subpanels and troubleshoot any household electrical issues that may arise.

Your day-to-day activities will also include inspecting systems for code compliance, communicating with homeowners, and adhering strictly to safety protocols. You will also be responsible for maintaining your tools and supplies, and occasionally, you may be called on to perform emergency repairs.

What You Need to Be a Residential Electrician

To be successful in the position of Residential Electrician, you will need a valid electrical license or completion of an apprenticeship. You will also need a solid understanding of NEC code for residential work and the ability to read blueprints and layouts.

Experience with installing outlets, lighting, and switches is crucial, as is experience with servicing breaker panels. You must have excellent customer service and communication skills, and a clean driving record. Ideally, you will have spent 2-4 years in the field as a Residential Electrician. Hands-on abilities and practical problem-solving skills are a must for this role.
