Your Daily Tasks as a Residential Electrician

In this role, you’ll undertake a variety of tasks. You’ll be responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems in homes and apartment buildings. This includes wiring for new construction and remodels, and the installation of outlets, lighting, and switches. You’ll also be servicing breaker panels and subpanels, and troubleshooting household electrical issues.

Inspection of systems for code compliance is also a crucial part of your job, as well as communicating effectively with homeowners about the work being done. Safety is paramount in this role, so following safety protocols is a must. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for maintaining tools and supplies, ensuring that everything needed for a job is ready and in good condition.

What You Need to Be a Residential Electrician

To successfully fulfill the role of a Residential Electrician, you’ll need a valid electrical license or proof of apprenticeship completion. You should have a strong understanding of NEC code for residential work and be able to read blueprints and layouts.

Skills in outlet, lighting, and switch installation are essential, along with experience with breaker panels. Excellent customer service and communication skills are also required, as you’ll be interacting directly with our clients. A clean driving record is necessary as well. Prior experience of 2-4 years in the field as a Residential Electrician is preferred.
