What You’ll Do as a DC Infrastructure Electrician

As a DC Infrastructure Electrician at EV Careers in Hilton Head Island, SC, you’ll be installing, maintaining, and upgrading direct current infrastructure. You’ll work on a range of projects, from telecom and solar systems to battery backup installations. This is a hands-on, technical role where your expertise in DC systems will be put to use on a daily basis.

Your Daily Tasks as a DC Infrastructure Electrician

Your typical day as a DC Infrastructure Electrician will involve installing and maintaining DC infrastructure, such as wiring, conduits and panels. You’ll work with both low- and medium-voltage DC systems, ensuring all work is compliant with local codes and safety regulations.

You’ll also support various telecom, solar, and battery backup systems, troubleshooting control circuits as needed. Furthermore, you’ll coordinate with engineers on layout and system design, offering your input and expertise to ensure the most effective solutions are implemented.

In addition to these tasks, you might be asked to perform load calculations, participate in quality control checks, and attend project meetings to ensure that all work aligns with project timelines and specifications.

What You Need to Be a DC Infrastructure Electrician

To succeed as a DC Infrastructure Electrician, you must be a licensed electrician with demonstrable experience in DC wiring. A strong understanding of DC system behavior and safety is crucial, as is the ability to install and terminate cabling for distributed systems.
