The Residential Electrician Position

As a Residential Electrician on our team, you’ll have a variety of responsibilities that ensure every day is dynamic and engaging. Your main tasks will include installing and repairing electrical systems in residential buildings, troubleshooting household electrical issues, and ensuring all systems meet the NEC code requirements. Core Residential Electrician Responsibilities

Our residential electricians are tasked with the installation and repair of electrical systems in homes and apartment buildings, wiring new constructions and remodels, installing outlets, lighting, and switches, and servicing breaker panels and subpanels. Additionally, you’ll be expected to troubleshoot household electrical issues, inspect systems for code compliance, communicate effectively with homeowners, follow safety protocols, and maintain tools and supplies. Advanced technical duties include complex system troubleshooting, large-scale project management, and advanced electrical installations. The job also involves regional project specifics and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Required Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate should have a valid electrical license or have completed an apprenticeship. An understanding of the NEC code for residential work is required, as well as the ability to read blueprints and layouts. Skills in outlet, lighting, and switch installation, experience with breaker panels, excellent customer service, and communication skills are also necessary. A clean driving record is a must. We prefer candidates with a minimum of 2-4 years experience as a Residential Electrician. Essential certifications and technical knowledge will be detailed during the application process.

Tools & Equipment

Our Residential Electricians use a variety of tools daily, including wire strippers, multimeters, and circuit testers. You’ll be required to have your own basic set of tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, and tape measures. The company provides specialized equipment such as power tools and heavy-duty machinery.

Physical Requirements

The job involves lifting loads of up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. You’ll also need to be comfortable working in various weather conditions. Required safety gear includes hard hats, safety glasses, and work boots.
