The Residential Electrician Position

Working as a Residential Electrician on our team entails a multitude of responsibilities, from the installation and repair of electrical systems in homes to the wiring of new constructions and remodeled spaces. Core Residential Electrician Responsibilities

As a Residential Electrician, you are expected to install and repair electrical systems in homes and apartment buildings, wire new constructions and remodels, and install outlets, lighting, and switches. Your responsibilities also include servicing breaker panels and subpanels, troubleshooting household electrical issues, inspecting systems for code compliance, and communicating effectively with homeowners. Above all, you must adhere to safety protocols and maintain your tools and supplies. Advanced technical duties include diagnosing complex electrical issues, designing residential electrical systems, and supervising junior electricians.

Required Experience & Skills

To qualify for this role, you must have a valid electrical license or have completed an apprenticeship. You should have a sound understanding of the NEC code for residential work and the ability to read blueprints and layouts. Skills in outlet, lighting, and switch installation are vital, as is experience with breaker panels. Excellent customer service and communication skills are also required, along with a clean driving record. A minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Residential Electrician is essential.

Tools & Equipment

As a Residential Electrician, you will use a variety of tools daily, including wire strippers, pliers, and voltage testers. You will be expected to maintain your personal tools, including screwdrivers and measuring devices. The company will provide larger equipment such as power drills and saws.

Physical Requirements

The role involves a significant amount of physical work, including lifting heavy equipment and tools. Working conditions can be challenging, with most of your time spent in tight spaces or at heights. Safety gear, including helmets, gloves, and boots, is mandatory.
