The Master Electrician Position

As a Master Electrician with EV Careers, your role will be multifaceted and integral to our operations. Your daily responsibilities will include overseeing the design and implementation of electrical systems for various construction and renovation projects. You will work in a variety of environments, from residential homes to large-scale commercial buildings. Our team structure allows for autonomy, but with the support and supervision of senior staff and project management. Core Master Electrician Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, your primary responsibilities will include designing and overseeing electrical systems for construction and renovation projects. This entails supervising electrical teams, managing job site activities, ensuring local code compliance, and coordinating inspections. You will be expected to manage project timelines and budgets effectively, provide expert troubleshooting support, and develop safety and quality protocols. Your duties will also include leading client consultations and technical reviews, as well as training and evaluating apprentices and journeymen. Your advanced technical duties will encompass complex system layouts, large-scale power distribution, and specialized lighting designs.

Required Experience & Skills

To qualify for this position, you must be a licensed Master Electrician with a minimum of 6 years of experience in the field. You should have extensive knowledge of the NEC and local codes and have proven leadership and project management skills. Experience in electrical design and system layout is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with clients and city officials. You should be technically proficient with diagnostic tools and blueprints and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Tools & Equipment

Our Master Electricians are expected to be proficient with a variety of tools, including multimeters, wire strippers, circuit testers, and conduit benders. You should have your own set of hand tools, but EV Careers will provide larger equipment such as power drills and saws. Safety gear, including hard hats and safety glasses, will also be provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

The Master Electrician role is physically demanding. It involves lifting heavy equipment and materials, working in varying conditions, from hot sun to cold rain, and spending long periods standing or kneeling. You will be required to use safety gear, including harnesses for work at height and gloves for handling sharp objects.

Compensation Package

Our Master Electricians enjoy a competitive salary range of $33.95-$35.47 per hour, depending on experience.
