What You’ll Do as a High Voltage DC Electrician

As a High Voltage DC Electrician at EV Careers, you will be at the forefront of our mission to empower Brandon, MS with clean, efficient, and safe energy solutions. Your Daily Tasks as a High Voltage DC Electrician

Your tasks will include installing, repairing, and maintaining high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems. You will also work on power distribution and conversion systems, including rectifiers and inverters, vital for the smooth operation of our energy solutions.

In addition, you will ensure that DC arc flash safety standards are consistently met, protecting yourself and your team from potential hazards. You will troubleshoot electrical faults in HVDC environments, relying on your expertise and problem-solving skills to keep our operations running smoothly.

A critical part of your role will involve reading and interpreting complex schematics, helping you understand and fix electrical issues. You will also assist in commissioning new systems, ensuring they are set up correctly and ready for operation. Finally, you will monitor performance data, conduct preventative maintenance, and take proactive steps to keep our equipment in top condition.

What You Need to Be a High Voltage DC Electrician

To succeed in this role, you must have previous experience working with high-voltage DC systems, and you must be a licensed electrician with DC-specific training. You should have a strong understanding of rectifiers, inverters, and battery systems, and you should be knowledgeable about DC arc behavior and mitigation.

Working with high-voltage PPE and diagnostic equipment should come naturally to you. You should have spent at least 4-6 years in the field as a High Voltage DC Electrician and have a proven track record of success. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on abilities are essential for this role.
