The Maintenance Electrician Position

As a Maintenance Electrician at EV Careers, you’ll work with a dedicated team responsible for the safety and functionality of electrical systems across diverse project sites. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include routine electrical maintenance on building systems, troubleshooting, and performing electrical upgrades. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Maintenance Electrician and be part of a cohesive team that values professional growth and development within the company.

Core Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include performing routine electrical maintenance on building systems, inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting lighting, power outlets, and control panels. You’ll be expected to respond promptly to urgent repair requests, perform electrical upgrades and preventative maintenance, and maintain detailed logs of repairs and inspections. You’ll also handle replacement of ballasts, fuses, wiring, and fixtures while coordinating with facilities teams and vendors. Your role will require strict adherence to safety standards, including compliance with OSHA regulations.

Required Experience & Skills

We’re seeking a licensed electrician or a professional with a solid background in facilities maintenance. You should have at least 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician and possess sound troubleshooting and repair skills. Familiarity with building codes and maintenance practices is essential, as is the ability to work on-call or during off-hours. Excellent communication and record-keeping skills, knowledge of electrical testing equipment, and the ability to work independently are vital.

Tools & Equipment

Our Maintenance Electricians are proficient in the use of a variety of tools, including multimeters, wire strippers, cable cutters, and pliers. While we provide most of the essential equipment, you’re expected to have your own set of basic hand tools.

Physical Requirements

The role of a Maintenance Electrician involves frequent lifting, often of items weighing up to 50 lbs. You’ll work in a variety of conditions, both indoors and outdoors, across different project sites. Safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves are a must.
