The Maintenance Electrician Position

As a Maintenance Electrician at EV Careers, your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing routine electrical maintenance on building systems, inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting various electrical components. You’ll be working on diverse projects in different environments, from bustling construction sites to quiet residential buildings. Under the guidance of a team supervisor, you’ll have room to grow and develop within our company, with the potential to take on more challenging responsibilities and leadership roles over time.

Core Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities

In addition to routine electrical maintenance, you’ll also be expected to respond to urgent repair requests, perform electrical upgrades, and carry out preventative maintenance. Your role will also involve maintaining logs of repairs and inspections, replacing ballasts, fuses, wiring, and fixtures, and coordinating with our facilities teams and vendors. Advanced technical duties include conducting energy audits, designing electrical systems for new construction projects, and installing emergency backup systems. All work will be conducted following our rigorous safety standards.

Required Experience & Skills

We’re looking for candidates with an electrical license or a background in facilities maintenance. Solid troubleshooting and repair experience are essential, as is familiarity with building codes and maintenance practices. You should be willing to work on-call or during off-hours and have excellent communication and record-keeping skills. Knowledge of electrical testing equipment and the ability to work independently are vital. At least 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician is required.

Tools & Equipment

Our Maintenance Electricians use a variety of tools, including voltage testers, wire strippers, and circuit finders. You’ll be expected to bring your own basic tools such as screwdrivers and pliers, but we will provide more specialized equipment, including power tools and diagnostic devices.

Physical Requirements

You should be able to lift heavy objects, as this role will require lifting equipment and tools regularly. The job will involve working in various conditions, from hot and dusty construction sites to air-conditioned residential homes. Safety gear, such as helmets, gloves, and safety shoes, will be necessary.

Our compensation package includes a competitive salary range of $28.89-$33.52 per hour, depending on experience.
