What You’ll Do as a Maintenance Electrician

As a Maintenance Electrician at EV Careers in Meridian, MS, you’ll be playing a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of our facilities. Your Daily Tasks as a Maintenance Electrician

A typical day will see you carrying out routine electrical maintenance, inspecting and testing all aspects of our building’s electrical systems. When something goes wrong, you’ll respond swiftly to repair requests, troubleshooting the issue and resolving it as quickly as possible. You’ll maintain logs of all repairs and inspections, ensuring we have a clear record of our system’s performance.

You’ll also undertake preventative maintenance to ward off potential issues before they become problems. This could involve replacing ballasts, fuses, wiring, and fixtures, or coordinating with facilities teams and vendors to source parts and equipment. Safety is paramount in everything we do, so you’ll always adhere to the highest safety standards.

What You Need to Be a Maintenance Electrician

To succeed in this role, you’ll need an electrical license or a background in facilities maintenance. You should have solid experience in troubleshooting and repair, as well as a good understanding of building codes and maintenance practices. Since this role often requires work during off-hours or on-call, flexibility is a must.

Good communication skills are essential, as you’ll be liaising with team members, vendors, and potentially clients. You’ll also need to keep accurate records of your work.

You should be familiar with a variety of electrical testing equipment and be able to work independently. You’ll need at least 3-5 years of experience in the field as a Maintenance Electrician and a list of must-have skills that focus on hands-on abilities.
