The High Voltage EV Electrician Position

As a High Voltage EV Electrician, your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around installing, servicing, and maintaining high-voltage systems for electric vehicles and associated infrastructure. You will also be expected to ensure safety protocols for high-voltage operations and interpret technical schematics and equipment diagrams. Core High Voltage EV Electrician Responsibilities

Beyond the basic duties, as a High Voltage EV Electrician, you will troubleshoot and repair EV electrical systems, test insulation resistance and power delivery, and coordinate with engineering teams for layout and specifications. You will be expected to document system performance and service logs, and ensure NEC and OSHA compliance.

• Advanced responsibilities include managing large-scale installations, developing maintenance schedules, and training junior staff.
• Regional project specifics include working on EV charging stations and solar-powered EV systems.
• Safety protocols entail strict adherence to high-voltage safety standards and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Required Experience & Skills

We require a valid electrician license with high-voltage certification, deep knowledge of EV systems and high-voltage safety standards, and experience with EVSE equipment and protocols. You should be skilled in using electrical diagnostic tools and PPE for HV environments. Familiarity with energy storage systems and power electronics is required, along with strong technical and communication skills.

• You should have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a High Voltage EV Electrician.
• Essential certifications include an electrician license and high-voltage certification.

Tools & Equipment

• Our High Voltage EV Electricians use a variety of tools, including multimeters, megohmmeters, and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE).
• Personal tools required include standard hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers, and wire strippers.
• Company-provided equipment includes high-voltage testing equipment and safety gear.

Physical Requirements

• You will need to be capable of lifting heavy equipment, up to 50 pounds.
• Working conditions might involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions and high-voltage environments.
• Safety gear includes hard hats, safety glasses, and high-voltage PPE.

Training & Development
