Your Daily Tasks as a Maintenance Electrician

Your day-to-day tasks will vary depending on the needs of our projects. Regular duties include performing routine electrical maintenance on building systems, inspecting, testing and troubleshooting various components such as lighting, power outlets, and control panels.

Urgent repair requests will also land on your desk, requiring quick and efficient solutions. You’ll perform electrical upgrades and preventative maintenance, keeping our equipment and systems in top shape.

Your tasks will also include maintaining logs of repairs and inspections, replacing ballasts, fuses, wiring, and fixtures. You will coordinate with facilities teams and vendors, ensuring that all work is done to the highest standards. And of course, safety will always be your top priority.

What You Need to Be a Maintenance Electrician

To excel as a Maintenance Electrician, you’ll need a valid electrical license or a strong background in facilities maintenance. You should have solid experience in troubleshooting and repair, and be familiar with building codes and maintenance practices.

Your capability to work on-call or during off-hours will be essential. Your communication skills should be top-notch, as well as your record-keeping skills to maintain accurate logs of all work performed.
