The Maintenance Electrician Position

As a Maintenance Electrician on our team, you’ll be entrusted with significant responsibilities. These include performing routine electrical maintenance on building systems, inspecting and troubleshooting lighting, power outlets, and control panels, and responding to urgent repair requests. Core Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities

In addition to the aforementioned tasks, our electricians perform key activities like electrical upgrades, preventive maintenance, maintaining logs of repairs and inspections, and replacing ballasts, fuses, wiring, and fixtures. They also coordinate with facilities teams and vendors. Some advanced duties include diagnosing and repairing complex electrical issues, overseeing large-scale electrical projects, and assisting with the design and installation of new electrical systems. All tasks are performed while adhering to strict safety protocols and standards.

Required Experience & Skills

To be successful on our team, a Maintenance Electrician needs to have a relevant license or a background in facilities maintenance. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is essential, along with solid troubleshooting and repair skills. Familiarity with building codes and maintenance practices, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently are also crucial. Knowledge of electrical testing equipment and the capacity to work during off-hours, if required, are necessary as well.

Tools & Equipment

Our Maintenance Electricians make use of a range of tools on a daily basis, including multimeters, wire strippers, pliers, and power drills. While our electricians are expected to have their own basic tools, the company provides specialized equipment needed for specific tasks.

Physical Requirements

The role requires the ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 lbs. Our electricians often work in different settings, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions. Safety gear such as gloves, safety glasses, and hard hats are mandatory.
