What You’ll Do as a High Voltage DC Electrician

As a High Voltage DC Electrician at EV Careers, you will be playing a crucial role in our ongoing and upcoming projects in Jackson, MS. Your role is pivotal in the smooth operation and maintenance of our high-voltage direct current systems. This is not just about wires and circuits; it’s about powering progress and moving our company forward.

Your Daily Tasks as a High Voltage DC Electrician

Your day-to-day tasks will involve the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-voltage direct current systems. You’ll be working on power distribution and conversion systems, including rectifiers and inverters. Ensuring safety standards, particularly those related to DC arc flash, are met will be a key part of your role.

You’ll be expected to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and diagrams, assist in the commissioning of new systems, and monitor performance data. Conducting preventative maintenance checks and addressing any issues that arise are also part of the job.

In addition, you’ll be dealing with electrical faults in HVDC environments, which will require a sharp eye for detail and a steadfast approach to problem-solving. You may also find yourself working closely with other members of our team to ensure all electrical systems are operating efficiently and safely.

What You Need to Be a High Voltage DC Electrician

To be considered for this role, you need to have significant high-voltage DC experience. Being a licensed electrician with DC-specific training is a must. A strong understanding of rectifiers, inverters, and battery systems is also crucial.

Your knowledge of DC arc behavior and mitigation techniques should be solid. It’s essential that you’re comfortable working with high-voltage PPE and diagnostic equipment.
