The Journeyman Electrician Position
As a Journeyman Electrician at EV Careers, you’ll be part of a team that values safety, quality, and professionalism. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. You’ll work on a diverse range of projects and environments, under the supervision of our seasoned Electrical Supervisors. Core Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities
As a Journeyman Electrician, your core responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various environments. You’ll interpret blueprints and technical drawings, run conduit and wiring, and troubleshoot and repair electrical issues. Ensuring code compliance and workplace safety is paramount. You’ll also coordinate with other trades and project managers, document completed work, and mentor apprentices whenever necessary. Advanced technical duties include proficiency in high voltage systems, automation, and controls. You’ll work on regional projects that involve hurricane-resistant electrical installations, and adhere to stringent safety protocols.
Required Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate must hold a valid journeyman electrician license, with a strong understanding of AC systems and electrical code. You should be able to read technical plans and blueprints, and have hands-on experience in wiring and breaker panels. Proficiency in troubleshooting and electrical repair is essential, as is familiarity with OSHA safety regulations. Good communication and organizational skills are required, along with reliable transportation. A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Journeyman Electrician is expected. Essential certifications include OSHA 10 or 30, NFPA 70E, and CPR/First Aid.
Tools & Equipment
Our electricians use a variety of tools daily, including wire strippers, pliers, multimeters, and power tools. You’re expected to have your own basic hand tools, while the company provides specialized equipment such as conduit benders, pulling equipment, and testing instruments.
Physical Requirements
The job requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, and occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs. You’ll often work in various conditions, from outdoor sites to confined indoor spaces. Safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots are mandatory.

Compensation Package
