What You’ll Do as a DC Infrastructure Electrician

Here at EV Careers in Slidell, LA, we’re currently seeking a DC Infrastructure Electrician to join our team. If you’re a licensed electrician with hands-on experience and knowledge of DC systems, you might be the perfect fit for our team. As a DC Infrastructure Electrician, you’ll be working on a variety of projects, from telecom and solar systems to battery backup systems. Our team is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of direct current infrastructure, meaning your days will be filled with diverse tasks and challenges.

Your Daily Tasks as a DC Infrastructure Electrician

In your role as a DC Infrastructure Electrician, you’ll be responsible for installing and maintaining direct current infrastructure. This includes wiring, conduits, panels, and more. You’ll be handling low- and medium-voltage DC systems, and ensuring everything is up to code and safe. Your work will support a variety of systems, including telecom, solar, and battery backup systems. Troubleshooting control circuits will be a regular part of your job, as will coordinating with engineers on layout and system design. Other common activities may involve upgrading or replacing old systems, diagnosing faults in circuits or components, and offering professional advice and guidance to other members of the team.

What You Need to Be a DC Infrastructure Electrician

To excel in this role, you’ll need to be a licensed electrician with experience in DC wiring. You should have a strong understanding of DC system behavior and safety, and the ability to install and terminate cabling for distributed systems. Experience with telecom, solar, or battery systems is preferred, but not required. We’re looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of experience in the field, and a list of must-have skills includes strong problem-solving abilities, good communication skills, physical fitness, and the ability to work in a team.
