What You’ll Do as a Journeyman Electrician

As a Journeyman Electrician at EV Careers in Murfreesboro, TN, you’ll play a crucial role in our ongoing residential and commercial construction projects. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of electrical tasks, from installing and maintaining systems to interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Your daily routine will be varied and hands-on, with a heavy emphasis on quality and safety.

Your Daily Tasks as a Journeyman Electrician

Your primary responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various environments. You’ll interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately install and troubleshoot systems, and you’ll run conduit and wiring to ensure safe and effective electricity transmission.

You’ll be in charge of troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues, ensuring code compliance and workplace safety at all times. You’ll also work closely with other trades and project managers to ensure the smooth operation of our projects. Documenting completed work and service records will be part of your daily routine, as will mentoring apprentices when necessary. Lastly, you’ll be responsible for maintaining your tools and equipment to ensure they’re always ready for use.

What You Need to Be a Journeyman Electrician

To succeed in this role, you must have a valid journeyman electrician license and a strong understanding of AC systems and electrical code. You’ll need the ability to read technical plans and blueprints, as well as hands-on experience in wiring and breaker panels. Proficiency in troubleshooting and electrical repair is essential, as is familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.

Good communication and organizational skills are a must, as you’ll be working closely with other trades and project managers. You’ll also need reliable transportation to get to our various project sites. We’re looking for candidates with 3-5 years of experience in the field, who have a proven track record of delivering high-quality work.
