The Journeyman Electrician Position

As a Journeyman Electrician within our team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. You’ll work on a wide variety of projects, in diverse environments, ranging from residential homes to commercial buildings and industrial plants. Supervised by our Senior Electricians, you’ll be a key part of our team, with ample opportunities for growth and advancement within EV Careers.

Core Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities

As a Journeyman Electrician, your core responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in different environments. You’ll interpret blueprints and technical drawings, run conduit and wiring, troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, and ensure code compliance and workplace safety. You’ll also liaise with other trades and project managers, document completed work and service records, and mentor apprentices when required. Your role will also entail advanced technical duties, such as panel upgrades, transformer installations, and complex troubleshooting. Understanding the specific requirements of our regional projects and following our detailed safety protocols will be integral to your role.

Required Experience & Skills

A valid journeyman electrician license is required for this role, along with a strong understanding of AC systems and electrical code. You should also have the ability to read technical plans and blueprints, hands-on experience in wiring and breaker panels, and proficiency in troubleshooting and electrical repair. Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations, good communication, and organizational skills, and reliable transportation are also essential. You should have a minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Journeyman Electrician, along with essential certifications such as NEC and NFPA.

Tools & Equipment

Our Journeyman Electricians frequently use tools such as multimeters, wire strippers, power drills, conduit benders, and cable pullers. You’ll be expected to bring your own hand tools, while larger equipment such as power tools and ladders will be provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

As a Journeyman Electrician, you should be prepared for the physical demands of the role. This includes lifting heavy equipment, working in various conditions such as heights or confined spaces, and wearing necessary safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and protective gloves.

Compensation Package

Our compensation package includes a competitive hourly rate of $30.89-$35.21, depending on experience. We also provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and holidays.
