The Journeyman Electrician Position

Our Journeyman Electrician role is a crucial part of the team, responsible for carrying out various electrical tasks in different environments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, as well as interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. You’ll be working under the guidance of a Senior Electrician and alongside other professionals, providing ample opportunities for growth and development within EV Careers.

Core Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities

As a Journeyman Electrician, your tasks will involve installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You’ll be expected to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately, run conduit and wiring, and troubleshoot electrical issues. Ensuring code compliance and workplace safety will be paramount. Other duties include coordinating with other trades and project managers, documenting completed work and service records, and mentoring apprentices when needed. You’ll also be expected to maintain tools and equipment, handle advanced technical duties, and adhere to regional project specifics and safety protocols.

Required Experience & Skills

For this role, a valid journeyman electrician license is required. You should have a strong understanding of AC systems and electrical code, and the ability to read technical plans and blueprints. Hands-on experience in wiring and breaker panels, proficiency in troubleshooting and electrical repair, and familiarity with OSHA safety regulations are also essential. Good communication and organizational skills are a must, along with reliable transportation. We require a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician.

Tools & Equipment

Our Journeyman Electricians frequently use tools such as conduit benders, wire strippers, multimeters, and power drills. You’ll be expected to have your own basic hand tools, while all heavy-duty and specialized equipment will be provided by EV Careers.

Physical Requirements

As a Journeyman Electrician, you’ll need to be physically fit to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions. Safety gear including hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves will be required at all times on site.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $30.41-$34.83 per hour, depending on your experience.
