The Journeyman Electrician Position

As a Journeyman Electrician with EV Careers, you’ll be an integral part of our team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across diverse project environments. You’ll work closely with our project managers and other trades, adhering to a team structure that promotes safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship. Core Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities

Your role as a Journeyman Electrician will involve a wide range of tasks. These include interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, running conduit and wiring, troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues, and ensuring code compliance and workplace safety. You’ll also coordinate with other trades and project managers, document completed work and service records, and mentor apprentices when needed. Advanced technical duties will include installing and maintaining high-voltage systems, performing load calculations, and designing electrical circuits. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring our projects meet regional electrical requirements and for implementing our strict safety protocols.

Required Experience & Skills

To qualify for this position, you’ll need a valid journeyman electrician license and a strong understanding of AC systems and electrical codes. You should be able to read technical plans and blueprints and have hands-on experience in wiring and breaker panels. Proficiency in troubleshooting and electrical repair is essential, as is familiarity with OSHA safety regulations. Good communication and organizational skills are also important. You should have reliable transportation and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Journeyman Electrician.

Tools & Equipment

Our Journeyman Electricians use a variety of tools on a daily basis, including multimeters, wire strippers, and conduit benders. You will be expected to provide your own basic hand tools, while specialty tools and equipment, such as power drills and hydraulic knockout sets, will be provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

The role of a Journeyman Electrician is physically demanding. You should be able to lift heavy objects and work in a variety of conditions, from high heights to enclosed spaces. Safety gear, including hard hats, safety glasses, and work boots, are necessary for the job.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $30.24-$34.17 per hour, depending on experience.
