The Industrial Electrician Position

As an Industrial Electrician, you will be an integral part of our team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various industrial environments. You’ll service equipment like motors, conveyors, control panels, and high-voltage systems. You’ll also troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in machinery and follow strict lockout/tagout procedures to ensure safety. Our Industrial Electricians work closely with our maintenance and engineering teams, under the supervision of experienced project managers. Core Industrial Electrician Responsibilities

In addition to the tasks mentioned above, you will interpret technical diagrams and schematics, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. You’ll also document repairs and updates for record-keeping. High-level responsibilities specific to the Industrial Electrician role include overseeing electrical installations on large-scale projects, designing and implementing electrical safety protocols, and providing technical guidance to junior staff. Your work will often include regional projects, requiring familiarity with local electrical codes and regulations.

Required Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, a journeyman license or equivalent, and extensive knowledge of industrial machinery and systems. Proficiency in motor controls, PLCs, and 3-phase power is a must, as is the ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams. You should also have a strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations and excellent communication skills.

Tools & Equipment

Our Industrial Electricians use a variety of tools in their daily work, including multimeters, voltage testers, and wire strippers. You’ll be expected to have your own basic hand tools, such as screwdrivers and pliers. Larger, specialized equipment, such as hydraulic benders and cable pullers, will be provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

The role of an Industrial Electrician is physically demanding. It may involve lifting heavy equipment and working in challenging conditions, such as at heights or in confined spaces. Safety gear, including hard hats, safety glasses, and work boots, is a must.
