You’ll be immersed in the world of industrial machinery, working on everything from motors and conveyors to high-voltage equipment and control panels. Your Daily Tasks as an Industrial Electrician

Your typical day as an Industrial Electrician will involve a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment. You’ll install and maintain electrical systems in our manufacturing facilities, troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in machinery, and service a range of components, including motors, conveyors, and control panels.

When machines break down, you’ll be the one to identify the issue and find a solution, often working from technical diagrams and schematics. Following lockout/tagout procedures will be a key part of your role, as will performing preventative maintenance to keep our equipment in top condition. You’ll also document your repairs and updates, helping us keep track of equipment history.

In addition to these tasks, you’ll collaborate with our maintenance and engineering teams, sharing your expertise and learning from theirs.

What You Need to Be an Industrial Electrician

To succeed as an Industrial Electrician at EV Careers, you’ll need an electrical journeyman license or equivalent experience, plus at least 4-6 years of experience working with industrial machinery and systems. A deep understanding of motor controls, PLCs, and 3-phase power is crucial, as is proficiency in diagnostics and repair.

You should be able to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams, and have a solid knowledge of OSHA safety regulations. Above all, you’ll need to be a team player, with strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe, productive work environment.
