The Commercial EV Charging Electrician Position

As a Commercial EV Charging Electrician with our team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include installing EV charging stations, interpreting site plans and specifications, running conduit, setting pedestals, and installing panels. Core Commercial EV Charging Electrician Responsibilities

Your core duties will include not just installing EV charging stations, but also working with utility providers and inspectors to ensure compliance. You will be expected to support maintenance and warranty calls, manage installation materials and documentation. Your advanced technical duties will encompass electrical systems troubleshooting, testing and commissioning of EV charging stations, and ensuring timely completion of projects. You will also be responsible for ensuring safety protocols are strictly adhered to during installation and maintenance tasks.

Required Experience & Skills

As a Commercial EV Charging Electrician, you should be a licensed journeyman electrician with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial EVSE installs. The ability to read blueprints and work with layout specs is essential. Strong wiring and troubleshooting skills are required, as well as familiarity with NEC, ADA guidelines, and municipal permitting. Certifications in EVSE installation and maintenance would be advantageous.

Tools & Equipment

As an electrician, you will use a variety of specific tools daily, including wire strippers, pliers, crimping tools, and multimeters. Some personal tools may be necessary, such as hand tools and power drills. The company will provide essential equipment such as EV charging units, conduit benders, and cable pullers.

Physical Requirements

The role requires occasional heavy lifting, with some equipment and materials weighing up to 50lbs. You should also be prepared to work in various conditions, including outdoors, in inclement weather, and at heights. Safety gear including hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves will be needed.

Training & Development

Compensation Package
