What You’ll Do as an Industrial Electrician

As an Industrial Electrician at EV Careers in Aiken, SC, you’ll play a crucial role in our ongoing projects. Your daily activities will involve maintaining and servicing our electrical systems within our industrial environment. We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty and enjoys problem-solving.

Your Daily Tasks as an Industrial Electrician

Your main duties will include the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in our manufacturing plant. You’ll be servicing motors, conveyors, control panels, and high-voltage equipment. When electrical malfunctions occur in our machinery, it’s your job to troubleshoot and fix them. You’ll follow strict lockout/tagout procedures and perform preventative maintenance to ensure our equipment is running smoothly.

In addition, you’ll be expected to interpret technical diagrams and schematics, ensure safety compliance, and document all repairs and updates. You’ll work closely with our maintenance and engineering teams, collaborating on projects and troubleshooting complex issues.

Daily tasks may also include routine inspections of electrical components, replacing worn parts, and testing electrical systems using diagnostic tools.

What You Need to Be an Industrial Electrician

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a journeyman’s electrical license or equivalent. You should have experience working with industrial machinery and systems, and a strong understanding of motor controls, PLCs, and 3-phase power.

Proficiency in diagnostics and repair is key, as well as the ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams. You should be knowledgeable about OSHA safety regulations and have excellent communication skills.

Ideally, you should have spent 4-6 years in the field as an Industrial Electrician. Other must-have skills include attention to detail, physical stamina, a keen sense of safety awareness, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
