What You’ll Do as a DC Fast Charging Electrician

As a DC Fast Charging Electrician with EV Careers in Aiken, SC, you will be an integral part of our mission to build and maintain the charging infrastructure for the future of transportation. Your primary role will be to handle the installation, testing, and upkeep of DC fast charging stations. This is a hands-on, field-based position that requires a blend of technical proficiency, physical labor, and project management skills.

Your Daily Tasks as a DC Fast Charging Electrician

Your daily activities will revolve around the full life cycle of DC fast charging stations for electric vehicles. This includes conducting site surveys, installing charging equipment, and performing maintenance checks. You will be responsible for trenching, wiring, and panel upgrades, as well as commissioning and testing chargers. Your duties will not stop at the physical work, you’ll also be regularly coordinating with utility companies and inspection authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. To ensure efficient operations, you will be required to document and log charging station performance.

In addition to these tasks, you might troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning charging stations, assist with customer service inquiries related to charging equipment, and contribute to the development of improved installation and maintenance procedures.

What You Need to Be a DC Fast Charging Electrician

To qualify for this role, you need to be a journeyman or master electrician with a focus on DC fast charging. A strong understanding of high-voltage safety and commissioning protocols is necessary. You should also be familiar with the software platforms used in charger configuration and diagnostics.

We expect you to have 4-6 years of field experience, preferably in a role that involved the installation and maintenance of charging stations for electric vehicles. Key skills include problem-solving, effective communication, and a solid understanding of electrical schematics and blueprints.
