What You’ll Do as a High Voltage EV Electrician

As a High Voltage EV Electrician at EV Careers in Dunwoody, GA, you’ll play a crucial role in our ongoing projects. Your work will be centered around the installation, servicing, and maintenance of high-voltage systems for electric vehicles and the associated infrastructure. This is not a desk job; instead, you’ll be actively engaged in hands-on work, ensuring the safety and functionality of high voltage systems.

Your Daily Tasks as a High Voltage EV Electrician

Your work will involve a range of tasks such as interpreting technical schematics, troubleshooting and repairing electric vehicle (EV) electrical systems, and testing insulation resistance and power delivery. You’ll also coordinate with our talented engineering teams to ensure the layout and specifications of our projects meet the required standards.

A typical day might also involve documenting system performance and maintaining service logs to ensure full compliance with NEC and OSHA regulations. You’ll often be tasked with installing EVSE equipment, testing charging stations, and ensuring that all electrical work meets high-voltage safety standards.

What You Need to Be a High Voltage EV Electrician

To qualify for this position, you’ll need a valid electrician license with a high-voltage certification. You should have a deep understanding of EV systems and high-voltage safety standards, as well as experience with EVSE equipment and protocols.

This job requires a hands-on approach, so you’ll need to be proficient in using electrical diagnostic tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) for high-voltage environments. Familiarity with energy storage systems and power electronics is also a must. Importantly, you should have strong technical and communication skills, with at least 4-6 years of field experience in a similar role.
